A family favorite for many years turned less greasy by cooking in the Faberware Air Frier. I prepared the meatloaf as normal & placed in the preheated air fryer coated with a non-stick spray.
Here is my recipe.
1-1.5# ground beef
1/2 c. Diced tomatoes
1/2 c. Chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 T. Liquid Smoke
1 T. Worcestershire
Enough to Oat Meal (or crushed saltine crackers) to make a nice mixture that will hold it’s shape and not be sticky (about 1/2 to 3/4 c.). Shape into a round. Please the meatloaf in the preheated, sprayed Air Frier and cook for 15 minutes. Remove the insert and turn the meatloaf out on a dish, then slide the meat back into the insert (turning the meat over).
Add the topping:
1/2 c. Ketchup
2 t. Brown Sugar
1 t. Mustard
Shake or 2 of Worcestershire
Cook another 15 minutes or until completely cooked.
NOTE: If using a 85% or higher ground beef, add 2 T. Oil to the mixture so it will brown.
