Green Short Set with Lace Appliqué

I wanted to expand my machine embroidery skills by doing some FSL (free standing lace).  You can purchase designs for this, but of course I did not.  Instead I used a design that came preloaded on my new Ruby Royale sewing/embroidery machine.  It is a simple design with just a single flower and 2 leaves.

I stitched out the design and use that for placement guide to stitch it on Precious top. Then using 2 layers of wash away stabilizer topped with a single layer of organza I stitched out the design hoping it would hold together for appliqué.   Success!!!!  It worker!

Using a heat-n-bond product, I applies the design to the top of each sleeve and used the 3rd for her headband.  I love the finished look.  So unique.

I hope you get inspired to try different things.  I know I will.
